Hey all! I hope every
thing is going superlicious for EVERYONE! The CD IS FINISHED! WAHOO! Now
all we’re waiting on is disk makers to print it all up. I’m
so excited!
It took quite a long time to record, but I think all this time was definitely
worth it. It’s one of those things where you can’t rush the
artistic creation! I hope many of you will enjoy it. I hope ALL of you will
enjoy it.
It’s sort of different than the last CD. The music has taken on a
different feel. Some of it is really rocky and upbeat, but there is an acoustic
song on it as well as other slow songs. So, no worries!
Hey, by the way we’re promoting a show called She Rocks 2005. About
six bands (including myself) will be playing. The whole point to this show
is to show support for hard-working Bay Area female singer songwriters/
female fronted bands. It’ll be during this summer and I believe it’ll
be an amazing show! So, be sure to check the website for more info. Or go
to www.sherocksmusic.com
Until next time my lovely friends…
Keep the times a rockin’,
~B.

Hey All,
So I'm still in the process of recording the cd. It's such a slow process! And of course Clay and I being perfectionists, it's taking longer than expected. But, don't worry... It'll be out soon!!
We finally got a drummer! His name is Raphael. He is a really awesome guy and we're all excited that he's a part of this musical creation! When you come to a show, be sure to introduce yourself to him!
Anyway, this is a rather short journal entry but I have to actually get ready for a band practice! I thought Sunday's were for sleeping in til noon! Psh.. not in my schedule. It's all good though, I love waking up and having to play music. What a b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l. wake up call!
See
you all soon,
Blair :)

Hello Hello Hello!
Yesterday we recorded the drum tracks for 'Sometimes'. I'm excited to hear the final product. I still have a few songs that need vocals recorded and those will be finished in the next two weeks. It's coming together... slowly but surely. I promise it will be worth the wait.
I'm STILL busy with school lately. I bored outta my head, but I'm still sticking to it. I wish I could play music 24/7, but that's not an option as of now. Anyway, I have to audition someone in about an hour. So, I better go get out of my jammies and into some actual clothes. I hope all is well with everyone.
Rock on,
Blair
Wow,
it's been a long time hasn't it? Sorry I haven't been keeping up. I was
so busy during my winterbreak recording and doing gigs. I've also been
really busy with school! I'm glad to be back, but I just want to rock
out and play my music all the time. Can't do that while I'm in school
;)
The cd is almost done! Im excited for every one to hear it. It's definitely
different than the 1st one. I think I found my style more in this cd.
I haven't heard the final sound/production for all the songs though, Clay
(like me) is such a perfectionist. So, it probably wont be done until
EVERY song is recorded. And then the final production of it takes so many
hours. Clay's taking on such a big job. (I love you, Clayton!)
If anyone is interested in being on my street team, send a comment through
my website! Promotion is so important for a band's success. It's really
hard for us to do it all. What we need is a big cool team of people. And
that's where you come in!
I promise some extra good fun after shows with my band and I. You'll get
the inside scoop on everything that's going on.You'll get a cool t-shirt...
and as many cd's, stickers, picks as you want.. because after all, you'll
use them to help with promotion!
Plus you'll become my new favorite person. I'm not joking. I'm actually
totally serious. So c'mon join my street team, my darlings. We'll definitely
have some wicked good times. So sign up, please :) Even if you'd be interested
in giving a few cd's to friends or just to random people. Oh, and if you
like stickers, you can stick 'em every where!
Look, I know you want to. I know you have 2 minutes to spare to write
a message saying
"Hi, my name is *insert name here* I am interested in being a part
of your street team. My address is *insert address here*. Please send
me any promotion items you might have. I would LOOOOVE to help out."
Love,
A cool new street team member.
You would totally rock my world if you became a part of BST! (Blair's
Street Team). Please :)
Well, I'm off to a guitar lesson. It'll be my 6th guitar lesson I've ever
had in my life! My teacher is awesome! Glenn Deardorff (located in Castro
Valley).
Rock on everyone! And thanks for your support.
~Blair
Hey
Everyone!
Sorry it's been a while! I've been super busy lately with school and finals.
You know, all that FUN stuff ;)
As for the music stuff, things are going well. Unfortunately I haven't
been able to record for a few weeks due to a malfunction in Clay's mixing
board. The company that he got it from is giving him such a hassal! We
should be able to record in the next few weeks though. No worries fellow
cd waiters.
I had my first gig with the whole new band on Sunday night. It was AWESOME! We totally kicked major musical butt! We're really pulling together nicely. This makes Blair (ME!!!) very VERY happy.
Anyway, the holiday's are upon us. Happy late hannukah.. happy Kwanza... Merry x-mas... and happy regular day to the folks who don't celebrate any of the holidays I just listed :) I hope all is well for everyone. Be Safe!
Love Always,
Blair
Hello
ladies, gents, and kiddies!
I know I promised to keep up with this journal, so here you have it...
another journal entry! This one will be short because I have SO much to
do today.
The band and I have been having practice twice a week now. It's awesome. We're all getting comfy with each other, FINALLY! The recording is going all right. I'm still a little "ehh" on a few of the tunes... but, we'll work them out for sure :)
I hope all
is well with everyone. Have a GREAT thanksgiving and if you don't celebrate
it... then that doesnt apply to you. BUT, I DO hope YOU have a great day
too :) Oh, I will be playing a 30 min acoustic set with Scott at the Bistro
in hayward (on the corner of A st. and B st.) This Friday night. I'll
be playing something in the evening time... 6 or something. But, come
anyways... there will be a bunch of great musicians.
Rockin your world... indie style,
Blair
Hey
y'all.. here's the 411:
I'm in my college's puter lab. One more class to go today! I'd rather
be playin music, but I should continue school. At least for a few more
semesters ;) Anyway, So.. I have a new drummer! He's awesome. His name
is Ken (check out the band's bios... he's on there). He's a really great
guy and a talented drummer. Get this, he makes his own electronic drums.
He brought a whole kit over to where we rehearse. It's the coolest thing.
I would have never figured out how to make something like that. He's a
smart dude, for sure. I look forward to playing music with him.
I'm really
excited about everything. We're all slowly pulling together. It's definitely
different, but we'll all get used to each other's music styles and personalities
in time. We're beginning to have more practices a week, which is essential
in order for the music to tighten up and get better. Our first show AS
A ROCKIN' "NEW" BAND, is Nov. 20th at NewPark Mall in Nework.
Be sure to come. (directions are on the upcoming show's page).
Clay and I recorded this last weekend. He showed me the recording for
"silver platter" and most of the production is finished. I recorded
some backround vocals. The song is kick ass. HOWEVER, because we are both
perfectionists, I know some of the production will change on the song.
Clay and I are both so... nit picky (is that the right phrase? hmm).
We also recorded, Estrela (star) which none of you have heard yet. It's
a VERY fast rockin' song. It was so annoying though, in order for me to
get the raspy-ness in my voice that I really needed for this song, I had
to drink 3 small glasses of whole milk. Yeah, I really dont like whole
milk. I dont really care for milk at all actually. But, because milk and
dairy products leave a residue on the vocal chords, it created the raspy-ness
that I needed. (Later I found out from my AMAZING vocal teacher, Matt
Liebowitz that I should have drank soda instead and that it's better to
create that raspy-ness. Pssh. And I drank milk!Gross, man).
Anyway, my next band practice is thursday night. Friday and Saturday I record and Sunday I have another band practice. Good times indeed. This is going to be a long week/weekend. Hope all is well for everyone. I can't wait to see y'all soon. Oh yeah, I just want to thank EVERYONE for all of their support with my music. :) THANK YOU!
Rockin' your
world, indie style...
Blair
Hey
Everyone!
WARNING… I just had a white chocolate mocha from Starbucks. That
means a lot of caffeine, so bear with me ladies and gents.
Today I had my first recording session for the 2nd CD with Clayton!!!
Good times indeed. We recorded the vocal tracks and my guitar tracks for
the songs Smile and Silver platter. I think they are going to turn out
pretty rockin’. I love hanging out and recording with Clay. We have
such an awesome time together.
Hm, I know
what I’m getting Clay this coming Christmas… TURKEY JERKY.
(Sorry to all of you vegetarians!) OK story time about the turkey jerky:
I was really hungry, so I brought up some turkey jerky. You know the big
kinds you get at cosco. It really hit the spot I might add. And then Mr.
Clay walked over and I asked him if he’d like A PIECE. The boy grabbed
the bag and inhaled that jerky. *Sighs* Poor turkey, man. Yeah. Luckily,
I have another bag.
ANYWAY, I’m so excited about the next CD. I’ve said that a
lot, it really will be so superlicious. (That’s my new word; spread
it around like mad. Super+delicious= superlicious.) Oh, tomorrow I have
some more auditions for a drummer and keyboardist. We’ll see, dudes
and dudettes!
Well, my darlings.. It’s late. Well, not really because it’s
only 10:50pm on Saturday night. “You have no life, Blair!”
yeah yeah yeah! I SO do. I just went out with some friends. And now, err…
I’m sitting at home. Bored and tired. I need to get some sleep for
tomorrow’s auditions and band practice.
By the way, I have a show on the 29th at Pleasanton Borders. You should come and bring a friend or bring 27 of ‘em. Well, if you have 27 friends, by all means… bring them. It’s a family show. Yep, just me and my guitar and the coffee blenders in the background.
Hey
Everyone!
This is my first journal entry. I hope you all will keep up with it and
I will try to write in it often. Well, as many of you know, Clay and Daren
will no longer be playing gigs and all that stuff with me. Daren is getting
his masters in English and Clay is getting married to his wonderful Fiance.
Those duties are going to take some extreme dedication and I completely
understand both of their decisions. Don't worry, we are all still friends
of course :) They are like my brothers and always will be!
Scotty is still with me, however, he plays the lead guitar! I have a new
bassist too, he's awesome. Eric Fortner is his name and I know you all
will love him as much as I do. As for a drummer, I am still holding auditions.
If you know of a dedicated drummer, let me know by commenting on my comment
page.*please* Oh yeah, Clay is also still going to be writing with me
and he will continue to be my producer. WAHOO! Clay is a cool cool dude.
I'll admit, all of this sudden change is totally scary. *sigh* it will
definitely take some getting used to. But, I know that the music will
NOT suffer and that everything happens for a reason. I will continue to
write music and perform for you all. Music is something I will continue
doing for the rest of my life. And I will always get the music out there
whether it be doing gigs or putting out more cd's, whatever.
Speaking of cd's... We're going to start recording soon. Yeah yeah yeah..
I know I said the beginning of next year the next one will be out... but
things change. That's life! But, I know this next cd will rock for suuuure!
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well. And I will be back out on the stage
soon. So, keep checkin on the website to find out about upcoming shows
and all that jazz. T0odleZ!
