Blair's background:
Blair Hansen showed musical abilities at age seven by writing songs on a small family keyboard. Her mother noted her singing abilities and hired Diana Ryan from Castro Valley to voice train Blair. She originally was voice trained in classical music, performing at many local recitals.
At the age of twelve Blair was honored to receive a "Superior Command Performance" during a 1998 California CMEA (CA Music Educators Association) competition held at Cal State University Hayward. She received newspaper exposure for this prestigious award. Blair went on to gain similar recognition for three years in a row.
At the age of fourteen
Blair picked up a acoustic guitar and was writing songs before
she knew the names of the chords. She has never looked back since, forming
her
own band and completing a debut CD of her own original material.
2002 marked Blair’s very first public performance with her Band at the first annual San Lorenzo Wine and Flower Festival. Blair and her band have been invited since to play at many other venues. She is happy to perform anywhere and has made herself available to worthy charitable causes, donating herself and the talents of her band. Blair currently continues to take voice instruction from Matthew Liebowitz and Piano lessons from Georgene Deardorff, both from Castro Valley.
In 2003, Blair was honored to open for Dave Wakeling of General Public and Susan Tedeschi at the A La Carte A La Parke Festival in San Francisco.
Blair was a showcasing artist at SXSW in Austin TX in March of 2004 and had a tradeshow booth where she met attendees to the once per year music conference, tradeshow and showcases.
2004 will release Blair's second CD and many festivals and experiences await Blair. We will be placing the focus on working toward establishing relationships with successful individuals to help her with performance opportunities, music publication, promotion and record distribution.
